Yes, I home school and no I do not want your opinion~

      My name is Stephanie Johnson and I live in South Louisiana. I live on 17 acres of beautiful land with my 3 little girls (Kennedi, Harley, and Madyson), my husband (Jeremy), our 2 dogs (Chance & Jersie), our chickens, our pet baby squirrel we just saved, a beta fish, and my 11 year old daughter's corn snake (Belle). Our lives are full of chaos and excitement 24/7 over here! And to add to the madness, I decided to home school my daughters Kennedi and Harley. Kennedi is 11 and in 5th grade and Harley is 6 and is in Kindergarten. My decision to home school was one I prayed about and researched to death! I always educate myself to the max about anything I choose to do especially where my girls are involved. My decision to home school was greatly and lovingly supported by my husband even though he wasn't to excited about the idea. He had the same negative stigmas in his mind that a lot of people have about home schooled children. To be honest so did I not long ago, but as I started to notice major changes in our school system and negative changes in my little girls personality and self esteem I decided that these homeschooling parents may be on to something! It has been 2 weeks since we started and all I can say is WOW! Ken and Harley love to learn! We have a blast!! My husband now sees what I was trying to tell him and he is proud that we decided to do this. Not all in our lives or the lives of my children are thrilled about it, but frankly I don't give two craps what anyone thinks or says about me or my decisions. I know this is the best thing for me and the girls...and bottom line is that we are happier than we have ever been! As far as little Mady is concerned, she is in Pre-K special education and LOVES it! Her teacher and aides are simply amazing! Plus, Mady is a social butterfly and loves people!!! As for now, this is where she needs to be and we are all happy with that~ Follow me through this exciting, challenging, and incredible new life we have created over here at the Johnson home! I will be honest, frank, and use humor in any way I can to express how I feel about certain things. I do not sugar coat anything...ever...ever...ever....it is just how I am.
